Torchiato di Fregona has a long history. A legend from the 1600s tells about a farmer, who let grapes mature on the beams of his granary. Grapes got dry and became sweet during the winter. In spring the farmer squeezed the grapes with the wine press, leaving the must to ferment in small barrels A new sweet wine came out, that he gave away during festivals Since then, all families in Fregona started to produce their own Torchiato, handing down this important heritage to future generations.
