Our production

Inimitable is the great wine native to the area of Treviso, the so called Raboso Piave DOC: a thoroughbred hard to tame, a unique wine and one of the most typical DOC PIAVE, which since 2012 boasts a new DOCG Malanotte del Piave. Its extreme nature is possibly the reason why it is sometimes left aside, considered intimidating because of its strong and enraged nature.

Another autochthonous grape variety is Manzoni Bianco 6.0.13, which finds in the Piave basin the perfect terroir for its development. This peculiar variety was created by Professor Manzoni, who have been a researcher and a luminary of the Oenological School of Conegliano for more than 60 years.
In the fertile fields close to the winery are also cultivated other varieties such as Pinot Grigio, Chardonnay, Traminer, Sauvignon Blanc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Merlot.

History of a Territory

The Church of Carmine with adjacent the house Convent and the Tower are symbols of great historical and artistic importance of the history of Rai and the Treviso countryside that spans from Conegliano to Oderzo. The church and the convent buildings were commissioned by Rambaldo XII (Count Collalto) as part of a complex of cloistered Carmelite fathers; in the XIV century they were an integral part of the courtyard of a large castle, destroyed after World War II.

Nothing survives to this day of that significant castle except for a glimpse of the wall of the central tower. Church of the Carmine, by contrast, is kept in good shape, although it has undergone several floods over the centuries: a singular incision on the inner edge of the portal testifies and shows how, in 1567, the water of the river Piave had reached the height of 1.50 meters.

A section of the courtyard also survives where you can see a wall painting and a sundial, leaning against the walls of the church, along with the tower, which was originally a lookout tower. As a matter of fact, the remains of the tower Rai stand a short distance from the church, on an artificial hill surrounded by trees and cultivated fields - a setting that makes it unique.

The tower was built for strategic military reasons in the X century on Roman foundations, but it was only in relatively recent times that the tower had to suffer its major damage: the first time in 1918 during the Austrian retreat and a second one in 1925 due to lightning. This structure can be visited, and guided tours are held regularly.
